Mr. Rakesh Kumar
Rakesh Kumar joined Project Prakash in June 2017. Presently, he is working as Project Coordinator with Project Prakash and coordinates for conducting eye screening camps with government and non-government institutions working for visually impaired children. He interacts with patients and their parents and counsels them at the camp site regarding the medical treatment. He plays a significant role in mobilizing patients to the hospital for surgical treatment. He has completed his masters in social work from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), India. He previously worked in skill development and community health and has coordinated health check-up camps.
Shakeela Bi
Ms. Shakila Bi ia presently working as Senior Counselor-cum-Patient Coordinator with Project Prakash India Office (New Delhi). She has been associated with Project Prakash since she joined in 2008. Ms. Shakila has done her Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W) at the Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi. She provides counseling to the patients and their families who are identified for surgical treatment in the eye screening camps. She is also the contact person for Prakash patients and their families for the pre and post-op follow up. Ms. Shakila plays a significant role in coordinating various activities at the hospital with research, outreach and medical team.She also conducts home visits of the patients to pursue and counsel them to get treatment and also coordinate for their travel to the hospital, and keeps in touch with the families once they return to their homes.
Shantanu Das Gupta
Deputy General Manager of Marketing and Projects at Shroff Charity Eye Hospital, Delhi. Mr. Das Gupta assists in coordinating and managing outreach efforts and personnel, including organization of eye camps in villages and schools, and coordinating patient visits to the hospital. He also has a role in strategic planning to increase the footprint, community outreach, marketing and project development with corporate organizations and international NGOs.
