A year of service for high school students who want to carry the work of Project Prakash into their schools, communities, and families.
Project Prakash is committed to fostering the next generation of global health and social impact leaders right here in the United States as it is precisely these young minds that will further equity, inclusion, and opportunity for marginalized communities on a global scale.

As part of this mission, we offer the Project Prakash
Youth Ambassador Program (YAP), an avenue for motivated high school students with a passion for global health and social change to help restore sight to children born blind in India.
Working individually or in a team of up to three, Youth Ambassadors design and implement awareness and fundraising campaigns that support Project Prakash's overall mission, or focus specifically on one of our four pillars of work: Outreach, Treatment, Education, and Research.

Youth Ambassadors can fundraise for Project Prakash's overall mission, or focus their campaign on one of our four pillars of work.
Each campaign you run, each dollar you raise, contributes directly to one of these areas.
OUTREACH
Mobile screening camps in remote villages across India that identify children with treatable blindness, many of whom have never seen a doctor before.
TREATMENT
Free sight-restoring surgeries for children identified through outreach, performed at our partner hospitals SCEH Delhi and Mastichak.
EDUCATION
School integration, vision rehabilitation, and skill-building support that helps newly-sighted children catch up with their peers
and thrive.
RESEARCH
Groundbreaking neuroscience that uses Project Prakash's work to advance the world's understanding
of how the human brain
learns to see.
